Hades reached the heights of hell with five BAFTA wins.
The BAFTA Game Awards 2021 were held last night, celebrating some of the best video games of the last year. Hosted by Elle Osili-Wood, this year’s nominees were a tight competition, with titles such as The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons among those most nominated.
The Last of Us Part II turned up to the ceremony with a record-breaking 13 nominations. But it was Hades that surprised by taking five awards in total, including the coveted Best Game award. The Last of Us Part II did not leave empty-handed, however, as the highly divisive sequel walked away with three awards, among them the publicly-voted EE Game of the Year.
The awards ceremony was filled was lots of small surprises, including Media Molecule’s Dreams and Sackboy’s Big Adventure taking home two awards each. With a diverse lineup of winners, this year’s BAFTA Game Awards highlighted the fantastic range of games brought to life across 2020.
