Yoshi’s Crafted World has its release date confirmed by Nintendo, and it’s rather soon.
Last year, the game that would eventually become Yoshi’s Crafted World – an adorable, Nintendo Switch platformer in the same vein as Yoshi’s Woolly World – leaked thanks to an online store listing before E3. Then during E3 2018, Nintendo talked almost exclusively about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the latest Yoshi yarn didn’t get a look in.
Most people were fine with that, but we were upset. Partly because there was far too much detail about Smash, but mostly, because the Yoshi-centric games are the unsung heroes of Nintendo’s catalogue.
Later in the year, a Nintendo eShop listing appeared that confirmed the Nintendo Switch game’s title as Yoshi’s Crafted World – based on its cute, papercraft, bits-and-bobs aesthetic – and that its release date would be somewhere in 2019.
Now, the same eShop page has confirmed that Yoshi’s Crafted World will release for Nintendo Switch on March 29th, 2019.
There’s also a rather lovely trailer to go with it.
And that’s it. That’s the news. Yoshi’s Crafted World just shot to the top of the list of games we’re excited for in the first half of 2019.
