There are big savings to be had on first- and third-party PlayStation games, and the PS5’s DualSense controllers receive a rare discount.

Every year, PlayStation has its annual Days of Play sale. It’s always one of the most reliable sources of deep discounts on PlayStation games and bargain hunters ignore it at their peril.

Lots of games, lots of savings. It’s just like every year. But before we get to the games, there’s something a little more unusual: the PS5’s DualSense controllers are also on sale.

The haptic-feedback wireless controllers are currently on sale for £49.95 in the UK. The amount of discount that equates to varies, as the “basic” colours normally cost £59.99, while the “fancy” colours usually set you back £64.99. That’s a 17% and 23% saving respectively, which makes it an even bigger saving on the colourful DualSense controllers. (Discounts may vary by region.)

These discounts are available on the PlayStation Store itself – the Days of Play sale is a native thing – but the discounts (on DualSense controllers, at least) are also available with other retailers. On Amazon UK, for instance, the “basic” colours are £46.99, while the “fancy” colours come in at £49.99 – making it a more even 22% and 23% saving.

And now, to the games themselves.

As usual, the Days of Play sale sees some big discounts on first-party games and console exclusives. That means older games like God of War (2018) and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection see big discounts, but also newer games like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and The Last of Us: Part 2. Destiny 2 and its expansions (Bungie is now a PlayStation studio, remember) also sees some healthy savings, while Ghostwire: Tokyo (from what is now an Xbox studio, but a PlayStation 5 exclusive, confusingly) is also 50% off.

How did we do?

We hope you found this article useful, or informative, or thought provoking, or maybe even a little entertaining. Perhaps it was a guide that helped you through a tricky bit, or we even saved you some money? Lovely stuff! If you'd like to say "thanks" you could always buy the team a cup of coffee.

No, not that Tim Horton. That would be weird. I've never even been to Canada. And I'm pretty sure he's dead? This Tim Horton is a freelance writer and lover of indie games. Painfully shy, powerfully awkward, you won't find me on social media.
