Tales from the Borderlands Episode 3 is out this week. Let’s get you rollin’ – catch a ride!
Episodic gaming is on the rise, and Telltale Games – developers of Tales from the Borderlands – are doing very well for themselves out of it. Their ability to take a popular franchise and turn it into a best-selling game might not sound like it’s been much of a stretch for them, but point and click adventures haven’t exactly been de rigeur for a long time.
That, coupled with the fact their titles have had to force their way into some pretty complex narratives and take on an entirely different visual style and tone with each franchise – The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Borderlands are all very different worlds – and it’s a wonder they’ve done so well.
But they are clever. And they are cool. They are slick, sophisticated, and beautifully crafted. Plus, they’ve found a great balance of old-fashioned SCUMM point-and-click mechanics married with fast-paced action sequences.
And Tales from the Borderlands is no exception.

Join the continuing adventures of Rhys and Fiona as they, well, get involved in lots of wasteland hi-jinks on Pandora, in the latest installment of Tales from the Borderlands. That’s today on PC, Mac, PS3 and PS4. Or tomorrow (Wednesday 24 June 2015) on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. And the following day for Android and iOS. Wow, they’ve been busy.
Or, you know, wait for them all to be released in a bundle at the end of the series because – much like the episodic nature of the TV series – we all prefer to binge.
