Goetia 2 and Guild of Dungeoneering are among the lineup of new Nintendo Switch releases this week.
Goetia 2 shares the same conceit that makes its predecessor so interesting: it’s a point-and-click adventure, but you play as a g-g-g-g-g-ghost.
But where in the first Goetia your goal is to uncover the circumstances of your own death 40 years prior, in Goetia 2, you’re wandering round a gothic Venice trying to reunite your lost soul with your body, which is a much more pressing concern. Oh, and because you’re a ghost, you don’t have an inventory, which turns the point-and-click formula on its head somewhat.
If you’re interested in that, you’ll probably also be keen on Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. It may not be Bloodlines 2 (the Cara Ellison-penned Vampire: The Masquerade sequel everyone’s really excited for) but any opportunity to spend time in that world is more than welcome.
Guild of Dungeoneering also gets a run-out on Nintendo Switch this week. It’s a classic dungeon crawler of sorts, but instead of playing the role of adventurer, you play as the dungeon. Specifically this is the Guild of Dungeoneering: Ultimate Edition, where the 2015 game was rebuilt, remastered, and featured plenty of welcome tweaks and improvements.
We’re also keen on They Always Run, a Flashback-esque space opera where you play an interplanetary bounty hunter. This one crept out of nowhere – we hadn’t heard of it before this week – but They Always Run looks like one to watch.
