Valley release date confirmed for August

Other than an incredibly stupid acronym, Valley looks like a solid first person adventure, and is launching very soon.

Why is it that acronyms have to be so stupid?

In the soon-to-be-released first person adventure game Valley, you’ll strap into the L.E.A.F. exoskeletal suit system, and explore the titular valley with all the super-human strength and agility the L.E.A.F. suit imbues; not to mention the impossible-to-not-say-in-a-dramatically-ghoulish-voice “the unrivalled power to control life and death” (which totally doesn’t seem like a stupid idea to put in the hands of one person).

And if you’re wondering what the staggeringly, bewilderingly stupid acronym L.E.A.F. is actually short for? That would be Leap Effortlessly though Air Functionality. Genuinely, I kid you not. It’s actually called that.

Thankfully beyond the ludicrous acronym, the game itself doesn’t look bad at all. You’ll find yourself utilising the aforementioned effortless air leaping functionality for running, jumping, climbing, and telepathically murdering/reanimating living things in the Valley while trying to uncover the secrets of its mysterious ruins. More specifically, the secrets of the Lifeseed, which according to legend is a bringer of death on a global scale. Probably best to stop that, then.

All joking aside, Valley does genuinely look like a very pretty and interesting game, and will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam) on August 24, 2016. It’s also worth mentioning that Valley has been made by Blue Isle Studios, the developer behind Slender: The Arrival, so it’s fair to say that power over life and death thing is probably going to get rather creepy and unsettling before too long.
