Ubisoft “accidentally” leaked a sequel to Ghost Recon yesterday.
We say “accidentally” with a heavy side of air quotes and sarcasm because, in a world where publicity is hard to acquire and attention is fleeting, one surefire way to get tongues wagging is to have people think you done effed up. Very few things unify the masses on social media than poking fun at someone else’s mistake.
We also say “accidentally” because it was leaked on Ubisoft’s own online store, rather than some of the usual suspects, like Gamestop or Zavvi.
Anyway, to cut a long, sarcastic story short, the new Ghost Recon game is being “officially” unveiled today. In about half an hour in fact. Isn’t it convenient they had the reveal video ready to go so soon after the “accidental” leak? Hmmm.
