7 indie publishers join forces to showcase new games

A group of seven independent game publishers are joining forces to create a new collective called The Indie Houses.

The founding companies of The Indie Houses are Akupara Games, Fellow Traveller, Neon Doctrine, Raw Fury, Those Awesome Guys, Toge Productions, and Whitethorn. If you are a follower of the indie scene, we expect many of the names are familiar. Recent games to come from the group include Paradise Killer, Lake, and Mutazione.

In its own words, the collective aims to “promote an environment that is centered around the sharing of knowledge between publishers rather than cutthroat competition.”

To launch the initiative, a Nintendo Direct-style showcase will be broadcast on August 31, 2021. The hour-long presentation will include reveals from each studio, new game footage, developer Q&As, and a look at the new African Developer Prototype Fund.

The Indie Houses Direct will be followed by a week-long Steam Festival – running from August 31 to September 7 – that features game discounts, bundles, and free demos.

The official YouTube channel is now live, and although it doesn’t have any content, it’s probably one worth subscribing to.
