Alec Baldwin signs up for Words with Friends birthday celebrations

Words With Friends is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new campaign featuring Alec Baldwin.

Emmy Award-winning actor, producer and director Alec Baldwin has signed up to star in a range of promotional videos to mark the 10th anniversary of Zynga’s hit mobile puzzle game, Words with Friends.

According to the press release, Baldwin is a long-time player of Words with Friends and will feature in a range of video vignettes to promote the game in the coming months.

Speaking about how the game has touched him, Baldwin says:

“It’s incredible to think back to my early days playing Words With Friends. From playing on sets between takes, with colleagues, filmmakers and crew, to now, with my daily matches with my father-in-law in Spain, the game has been a constant in my life over the past decade.”

Bernard Kim, president of publishing at Zynga, adds:

“Alec Baldwin not only partnered with us on this campaign, but was a true co-collaborator, from the early creative planning to the shoot. He didn’t just bring his chops as an actor to set, he worked with our team to develop the concepts, hone the dialogue and be a true creative force for this content series.”

In an interview to kick off the series, Baldwin speaks about is choice for ‘word of the year’ and how it ties into his role as a father. He also reveals a few of his tips and tricks for playing the game.
