Nintendo will broadcast an Animal Crossing focused Nintendo Direct on Wednesday 2nd November, 2016.
The broadcast will focus exclusively on the new update coming to the Nintendo 3DS game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Although the game is just about to celebrate its fourth birthday, the forthcoming update – and its retail reissue as Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo! – sees an attempt to give the game a new lease of life by introducing support for Nintendo’s range of amiibo figurines.
At the very least we expect to find out how amiibo figurines and cards unlock in-game characters and items, but hopefully that their use will run deeper that that. It’s rumoured that the update could also pave the way for possible future integration with next year’s Animal Crossing mobile game.
