Bandai Namco announces a new Little Nightmares game for iOS

Very Little Nightmares

Bandai Namco has confirmed that a new Little Nightmares game is coming to iOS later this year.

The wonderfully named Very Little Nightmares is a new prequel to Tarsier Studio’s 2017’s spooky puzzle adventure, Little Nightmares. The game is being developed by Barcelona-based Alike Studio, creators of the acclaimed Love You To Bits and Bring You Home.

The new game features an isometric design and an updated art-style that Bandai Namco say has been specifically designed for mobile devices. Based on the teaser trailer, it retains the original’s charm, while effectively translating the experience to a portrait display.

Very Little Nightmares serves as prequel to Tarsier’s original, a game that we called “transient, vague, and awash with macabre sights and sounds.” The story once again follows the exploits of rain-coated protagonist, Six, as she tries to escape a mysterious mansion. The story will reveal more about The Nest, and will introduce new enemies, and some friendly beings called the Nomes.

Take a brief look at the game in action.

Players can register their interest ahead of the game’s release at the official Very Little Nightmares website.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
