Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, will receive plenty of post-launch DLC.
Publisher 505 Games has confirmed the post-release DLC roadmap for Koji Igarashi’s upcoming action adventure game, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The game – which is a thematic follow-up to the Castlevania series – will be released on PC and console next month following a successful crowd-funding campaign, and five years of development.
Post launch DLC will include a boss rush mode, two new playable characters, and online and speedrun modes. Here’s the full list of treats in store.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Post-launch DLC
- Speedrun mode
- Pure Miriam outfit
- Boss Rush Mode
- Online & local co-op and vs. mode
- Roguelike mode
- 2 additional playable characters
- Chaos mode
- Classic mode
- Boss revenge mode
Paid DLC will also be available in the form of Iga’s Back Pack. The $10 update will allow players to take on Koji Igarashi and earn the powerful Swordwhip in-game weapon.
Igarashi promises that Bloodstained will be the biggest Igavania ever. An Igavania being the creator’s modest term for a “gothic, exploration-focused action platformer, designed by one of the godfathers of the genre.”
You have to love Igarashi, though. In a recent trailer he tackled some of the complaints levelled at the game’s visuals head on, and to hilarious effect.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 18, 2019, with a Nintendo Switch version following on June 25, 2019.
