Days Gone, the apocalyptic zombie action game from Sony Bend Studio, has been delayed until 2019.
In a statement released to Eurogamer, Sony said: “We can confirm that Days Gone will now be releasing in 2019, and we will keep you updated on the launch date.”
Scheduled for release exclusively on the PS4, Days Gone looks like an interesting action game. It blends what looks like a semi-open world with focussed areas of action.
Sony Bend Studios is a first-party studio, developing the Syphon Filter games and Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PS Vita. With around a hundred employees, it isn’t a massive one by any stretch, and Days Gone looks ambitious.
The showing at E3 in 2017 was certainly interesting, showing us a lengthy gameplay session. The protagonist hopped on his motorbike and sped through pine forests and dirt tracks, arriving to rescue his brother.
There featured hordes of the dead to make The Last of Us look sedate, and this is to say nothing of the armoured bear that shows up.
Hopefully, by the time it sees release, Days Gone will have been worth the wait.
