Disney Classic Games is bringing The Lion King and Aladdin back (and not as mediocre live-action movies).

Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King is bringing two fantastic ‘90s games to modern hardware this fall. Further, the collection includes some very cool extras, and will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Steam.

The port is being handled by Digital Eclipse and Nighthawk Interactive. Digital Eclipse (in its current iteration) has made a name for itself with excellent retro game collections. Since 2015, the company has released Mega Man Legacy Collection, The Disney Afternoon Collection, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.

Each of Digital Eclipse’s collections assembles a variety of retro games with tons of bonus materials. Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King looks to be no different. The re-release will include Sega Genesis and Game Boy versions of both games, and the SNES version of The Lion King. Additionally, the package includes Aladdin’s trade show demo, which has never been available publicly. The collection rounds out the package with a “Museum” that includes documentary material, screen filters and a music player.

Also, Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King has an eye toward making these notoriously difficult games more accessible. Both games include a Watch Mode, that will allow you to skip ahead to any portion of the game. A Rewind Mode will let you undo any goof-ups.

Between this and yesterday’s announcement of Capcom’s Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection, it’s never been a better time to try out nails-tough, old school platformers.

Thanks, Kotaku.
