Dusk Form Lycanroc - Pokemon

Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have officially revealed the brand new form of the Pokémon Lycanroc.

Lycanroc is a rock-type Pokémon that debuted in last year’s Pokémon Sun and Moon. The only way to get the fierce-looking beasty was to evolve the equally adorable Rockruff. There were two forms available – Midday and Midnight – both of which had differing abilities and physical traits.

For the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS sequels, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, a new Dusk Form version of Lycanroc will be introduced. Dusk Form Lycanroc features characteristics taken from both forms. For example, it stands on all fours and has behavioral traits similar to Midday Form, but when attacking, its eyes glow red, just like Midnight Form.

Despite its appearance, Nintendo’s explainer says that “Dusk Form Lycanroc has a tranquil demeanor and always remains calm. This Pokémon is obedient towards a Trainer that it trusts. It has an intense fighting spirit, and as a result, prefers to do combat at close quarters.”

Good to know, but here in the Thumbsticks dungeon we still prefer Rockruff. Just look at the loveable little rascal.

In fact, the only way get the new Dusk Form Lycanroc is to evolve a special Rockruff that will distributed online via the Nintendo Network as an early purchase bonus.

Owners of Pokémon Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon who purchase and play the game between its release on November 17, 2018, and January 10, 2018 are eligible.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
