Everspace, the spectacular space shooter from Rockfish Games, launches onto Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One.

The action-packed, space rogue-like from the Hamburg-based studio is also the first title to feature on the Xbox Game Preview Program for Windows 10. The game also supports Micosoft’s new Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, meaning you can buy the game once on either Xbox One or PC and play it on both platforms with the benefit of transferable cloud saves.

Being a Game Preview title Everspace is still in very much in development but Rockfish have promised regular updates. At launch the game includes a new boss fight, planet type, additional Outlaw stations, and a range of interface tweaks. In the coming months, two new ships will also be added to the game; The Colonial Scout will offer higher manoeuvrability at the cost of a weaker hull and the Colonial Gunship will be slow but strong with an upgradable turret. It’s good to see that the Mario Kart school of vehicle design remains in place in the far future.

Michael Schade, CEO and co-founder of Rockfish Games said:

“Thanks to our friends at ID@Xbox, we had the fantastic opportunity to demo Everspace to Xbox and Windows 10 gamers at pretty much every major games show since GDC earlier this year. We cannot wait to launch our very first console game ever on Xbox One and offer players the ability to play on both Xbox One and Windows 10 via Xbox Play Anywhere.”

Everspace is expected to get full release by the end of Q1 2017. The final version of the game will see the addition of a fully voice-acted story and VR support.
