Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered release date confirmed

Dark Light

Square Enix puts a date on the upcoming remaster of Nintendo GameCube role-playing game, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

The remastered edition of 2003 action-RPG, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, will be released on January 23, 2020, Square Enix has announced. The game will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android. Sorry, PC and Xbox One owners, no game for you.

The new version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles features updated graphics and audio, including new battle voice-overs. You can also put away the Game Boy Advance, as the remaster is playable online and supports cross-platform play. There’s new content too, with new dungeons and bosses added to the game, and new artifacts to find and equip.

We’re quite excited by this one. Although the original game sold over one million copies, finding enough players with GBAs and link cables made it one of the lesser played Final Fantasy releases.

A preview build of Crystal Chronicles is playable on the show floor at the Tokyo Game Show later this week. You can also see more of the game in this brand new trailer.
