Xbox Live Gold members can play Ubisoft’s ‘art-of-battle’ fighting game, For Honor, for free on Xbox One between August 10th-13th.

If you’re a night owl you might even get to swing your axe tonight – depending on how long it takes you to download the game – as For Honor will be available at zero cost via the Xbox One Games Store from 12:01am PDT on Thursday, August 10th. It will remain free to download until 11:59pm on Sunday, August 13th.

During the next four days players can earn gear, and use any of the game’s existing 14 Heroes. This includes the two recent additions, the Centurion and Shinobi, although you’ll need to amass a not insignificant 15,000 of in-game Steel currency to do so.

Available modes include 1v1, 2v2, and 4v4 multiplayer matches. Any progress you make will be saved, and will transfer should you decide to purchase the full game at a later date. And on that note, the Standard, Deluxe, and Gold Editions of For Honor will be available at a 50% discount on the Xbox One Games Store until August 20th, 2017.

The free play weekend comes just ahead of the August 15th launch of For Honor Season Three: Grudge & GloryThe new season adds gameplay balance tweaks, ranked duel tournaments, two new maps, and two brand new Heroes: the Highlander and the Gladiator.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Xbox, Nintendo, and PlayStation game releases.
