Sumthing Else Music Works have released the For Honor Original Soundtrack on CD, and digital download.

Video game music specialists, Sumthing Else Music Works, have added the soundtrack to Ubisoft’s For Honor to their growing – and increasingly impressive – library of releases.

Saunder Jurriaans and Danny Bensi’s score is as bombastic as you might expect, but it also contains some moments of remarkable restraint and beauty. To our untrained ears it recalls some of Bear McCreary’s best television work, and is no worse for doing so. We especially appreciate the way many of the tracks reflect the differences between the game’s three waring factions.

For Honor has been a quietly successful game for Ubisoft, and is a promising start for what we hope will be a continuing franchise. The game’s Shadow & Might Season Two expansion recently launched on all platforms, adding two new heroes, two extra maps, and new customisation items.

You can buy the For Honor soundtrack on iTunes, Google Play, or the Sumthing Else website, where you can also preview the entire album. Other recent releases from Sumthing Else include Paul Leonard-Morgan’s thumping score for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, and Ramin Djawadi’s epic Gears of War 4 soundtrack.
