CD Projekt Red have announced the release date for Crimson Curse, the first expansion for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.
“All beware the Crimson Curse! Dettlaff van der Eretein, the mighty higher vampire, is summoning his kin.”
This is bad news, apparently, so there’s only one thing for it. Play some Gwent!
Specifically, play Crimson Curse, the first expansion for CD Projekt Red’s collectible card game. The free-to-play add-on will be released for console and PC on March 28, 2019.
Crimson Curse focusses on Dettlaff van der Eretein – the vampire first seen in The Witcher 3‘s Blood and Wine DLC – and adds over 100 new cards to Gwent’s playable factions. Each card will available in standard and premium animated varieties.
According to the press blurb, players will be able to “afflict the enemy with Poison and Bleeding, and use Shield and Vitality to defend against incoming damage.”
The first five cards of the expansion – Disgraced Brawler, Dryad Ranger, Windhalm of Attre, Plumard, and Samum – have been revealed, with more cards to follow over the next few weeks. Head over to the official Crimson Curse website for more information.
In the meantime, take a look at how the story unfolds in the new teaser trailer.
Gwent: Crimson Curse will be released on March 28, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
