Hearthstone reaches 70 million players worldwide, Blizzard says thank you with free cards.
For a game that feels so embedded within video game culture, it’s easy to forget that Hearthstone only recently celebrated its third anniversary. The digital collectible card game has been a huge success on both PC and mobile, with publisher Blizzard Entertainment saying today that it now has over 70 million registered players.
Last month Hearthstone received its latest expansion, Journey to Un’Goro, at which point it had more global players playing together on the same day than at any other time since release.
As a thank you, Blizzard are giving away three Journey to Un’Goro card packs to every player for free, for a limited time. To get hold of the free cards all you need to do is log into the game on Mac, PC, iOS or Android. They will also be available to new players who sign up within the promotional period.
Blizzard have also announced the return of the Sunwell card to the game. The card can be added to your collection by reaching Rank 20 in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes.
Download Hearthstone from the official website, Amazon, the Apple App Store, or Google Play.
