Warner Bros has released a new Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay trailer showcasing the return of the fearsome Kabal.
Best known for his super fast speed, hook swords, and pesky artificial respirator, Kabal returns to the series as a playable character for the first time since 2011’s series reboot. His reappearance was teased at last month’s Mortal Kombat 11 preview event.
Kabal joins Baraka, D’Vorah, Geras, Kano, Raiden, Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Sonya Blade, and Sub-Zero on the game’s base roster. Here’s our first look at him in action.
Kabal is a former Black Dragon enforcer who has been resurrected as an evil mirror of his previous self. He now serves at the behest of the Netherrealm, vowing to destroy all other realms. (We all know someone at work like that, don’t we?) His duality will be represented by a choice of costumes.
Mortal Kombat 11 was announced at The Game Awards 2018, and will be released on April 23, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Shao Kahn is available as a pre-order bonus.
