Wattam, the new game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi, gets a PlayStation 4 and PC release date.
Annapurna Interactive will publish the long-awaited Wattam on PC and PlayStation 4 on December 17, 2019. Keita Takahashi’s game, which celebrates the greatness of ordinary life, has been in development for over five years.
Played either solo or co-op, Wattam takes players on a journey through a colourful world. Gameplay consists of solving puzzles, uncovering secrets and making friends with a vast array of characters by holding hands.
As you might expect from the creator of Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy, the game is a graphical delight, and each location and character feeds into an adaptive music system.
Speaking to the PlayStation Blog, Keita Takahashi notes Wattam‘s conceptual similarities with Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, saying:
“I have heard Death Stranding has a similar theme to Wattam, even it’s a totally different look. It’s very interesting if it’s true. But unfortunately, I can’t tell about it because I don’t have a PS4. Would you mind if I ask you to send me a PS4 Pro or PS5 to answer your question? I will return it to you after I finish Death Stranding. I promise!”
Too cute.
