During the company’s E3 briefing, Sony has announced a special edition PS4 Pro that is themed around Kingdom Hearts III.

The console itself has a stylish Kingdom Hearts paint job, with intricate patterns adorning the face of the console, and there is also a matching DualShock 4 with similar detailing on the touch pad.

Sony hasn’t released any specifics when it comes to a release date or the pricing, but it would make sense if they released it in early 2019, coinciding with the release of Kingdom Hearts III.

There was a trailer for it at Sony’s E3 presentation, which looked pretty cool:

On top of that, there was another trailer showing off the Pirates of the Caribbean characters. It’s a little bit disconcerting seeing full-on human, Johnny Depp-looking characters next to the likes of Daffy and Goofy.

Both trailers bare the tagline:

“The light is gathering together

Hearts driven by one oath, one purpose.”

Kingdom Hearts III launches on January 29 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
