Turtle Rock Studios reveals its cast of characters that will take on the undead in Back 4 Blood this September.

Back 4 Blood isn’t with us until September October this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a sweet, gory look at who we will be playing when the time comes.

In its “Meet the Cleaners” trailer Turtle Rock Studios highlights the different characters, along with their abilities, that will make up your team of zombie slayers. Narrated by your “run of the mill college kid with a baseball bat” – Zombieland has a lot to answer for – Holly is shaping up to be a damage heavy character. With stamina gained with kills along with damage resistance, you’ll want to keep swinging.

Forming the rest of the team are Mom, Walker, Doc, Karlee, Jim, Hoffman, and Evangelo. Each character, much like Holly, come with their own specific skills, meaning you’ll want to form a team that not only know how to kill zombies but play their part.

The latest trailer also has us a closer look at The Ridden – the zombie-like foes of the game. The Ridden will come in a variety of forms, from ground-pounding Breakers to “meatball” throwing Ogres.

With a focus on team-based combat and grotesque looking zombies, Back 4 Blood truly is shaping up to be the Left 4 Dead follow-up we’ve all been waiting for.

With the snapshots of high-octane and gloriously gory battles we get in this trailer, we are more excited than ever to slay some zombies with friends when Back 4 Blood launches on October 12, 2021.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
