Players of Pokémon Sun and Moon can now add the power of Mega Evolution to Mewtwo.
The Legendary Mewtwo is already a pretty impressive Pokémon to have at your disposal, but from today you can make it even more powerful using Mega Evolution to evolve it into either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y.
You can do this by using a special code to download a pair of Mewtwo Mega Stones – Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y – in Pokémon Sun and Moon. You can then give either stone to Mewtwo to hold, enabling it to Mega Evolve two different ways during a battle.
Here’s the Mewtwo Mega Stones code you need to get started:
How to download the Mega Mewtwo Mega Stones:
- Boot up you copy of Sun or Moon.
- On the main menu select Mystery Gift.
- Choose Receive Gift.
- Select Get with Code/Password, then Yes.
- Select Yes again to connect to the Interwebs.
- Enter the code: M2DESCENT
- The Mega Stones will be added to your copy of the game.
- Head to any Pokémon Center and speak to the delivery man to receive your Mega Stones
- Make sure you save the game
- Go battle.
Don’t forget that Mewtwo itself can’t actually be found in Sun or Moon, but you can bring it into Pokémon Bank via Poké Transporter from earlier games. It’s a bit of a process but you can find out how it works, right here.
