We’re a little biased about this one to be honest as we absolutely love Metanet Software’s refined and deadly platformer, N++.
But as a game that is not only host to hundreds of well designed levels but also to a wonderful toolset that lets players create and share their own, we thought this newly announced GDC talk deserved a little attention.
Titled Empowering the Player: Level Design in N++ the talk is part of the Design Track and will see Metanet president Mare Sheppard and VP Raigan Burns talk about the process of level design, iteration and refinement. It will also include practical tips and tricks as well as a broader overview of the strategies, processes and tools used during the development of the game.
If you are interested in the talk but have yet to play N++, or its predecessor N+, we recommend you fix that as soon as possible. We spoke to Sheppard and Burns in 2013 about the design process and it will be fascinating to hear their thoughts post release.
GDC 2016 will once again be held at the Moscone Center in San Francsico from March 14th – 18th 2016.
