Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin headlines this week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
After many years spent nurturing a Western audience, Capcom’s Monster Hunter series is now a big deal. The franchise always had its fans, but the expansive and polished Monster Hunter: World opened it to a new audience, and this year’s Monster Hunter Rise gave Switch owners their own full-featured experience.
The first Monster Hunter Stories RPG spin-off came to the Nintendo 3DS five years ago and was pretty much ignored. I make no bones about saying I enjoyed it more than recent entries in the structurally similar Pokémon series. The sequel arrives on Switch this week and is almost guaranteed to be a hit. If it’s anything like the first game, it will be another RPG to savour.
Other new Nintendo Switch releases include Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, The Silver Case 2425, and a cloud version of Asobo Studio’s acclaimed survival stealth game, A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Here is the complete list of upcoming Nintendo Switch games. We’ll update this post throughout the week with any late additions.
