New Pokémon Snap and Returnal debut at the top of the latest UK video game charts.
Two console exclusives have shaken up the latest chart of physical game sales in the UK. Top of the list is New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch, which comfortably takes the No.1 spot. The Bandai-Namco developed photography adventure is a stylish reworking of the Nintendo 64 original and has received a warm welcome from long-time Pokémon fans.
Returnal, meanwhile, isn’t an established IP, but developer Housemargue has a proven track record of excellence with games including Nex Machina and Resogun. It’s good to see the studio’s most ambitious game yet debut strongly at No.2.
The rest of the Top Ten has a familiar feel to it, with the likes of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, FIFA 21, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons all jostling for position. Blockbuster FPS Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also returns to the Top Ten after a one-week absence,
Last week’s No.1, the acclaimed Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139, plummets to No.22 in its second week on the chart.
