Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Protodroid DeLTA headline this week’s lineup of new video game releases for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the final game from EA’s ten-year contract with Lucasfilm. The deal has seen its fair share of misses, but 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a certified hit, commercially and critically.
The sequel refines the combat mechanics with a new crossguard lightsaber stance, adds more character customisation options, and includes Zelda-like Jedi Chamber Trials. The game looks fantastic, even if it does feature the return of dullard hero Cal Kestis.
Protodroid DeLTA is a new action-platformer from solo dev Adam Kareem that aims to bring the fast and fluid gameplay of SNES classic Megaman X into 3D. The game’s vibrant world looks the part, and if the controls are up to scratch, we can see it being a breakout hit.
This week’s other new video game releases include Neko Rescue Tale, Smile for Me, and a PlayStation release for the marvellous remake of Live A Live.
