Nintendo eShop Releases

Here’s your weekly rundown of Nintendo eShop game releases for the Nintendo Switch, Wii U and 3DS.

This week’s eShop highlight is, of course, the return of Sega’s famous hedgehog on Nintendo Switch. Sonic Mania brings together a mix of levels old and new, and is developed by collection fan developers in conjunction with Sega of America. So far, the response from critics and players has been mostly positive.

Also released on the Switch is Troll and I, an action adventure from Spiral House that didn’t get a very positive reception when it came to PS4 and Xbox One back in March. We don’t expect the Switch version to fare any better, unfortunately. It’s joined by Magician Lord, the latest NeoGeo gem from Hamster Corp.

Budding game developers might want to check out this week’s 3DS releases. Chicken Wiggle is a new 2D platformer from Jools Watsham, formerly of Renegade Kid. The game features a comprehensive level editor with a generous range of customisation options.

Also released on 3DS is SmileBASIC, a full-featured BASIC language programming package. The game features tutorials, games assets, and art and music generation tools.

Here is the full Nintendo eShop lineup as it stands:
