Nintendo eShop Releases

Here’s your weekly round-up of Nintendo eShop game releases for the Nintendo Switch, 3DS and Wii U.

This week’s eShop highlight is the long-awaited Nintendo Switch release of Stardew Valley. Eric Barone’s farming simulation has been a smash hit on PC, and was also released on PS4 and Xbox One earlier this year.

Also released this week is Axiom Verge. Thomas Happ’s science-fiction adventure has been available on other platforms for a few years now, but it deserves to find an audience on Switch. It’s a Metroid adventure in all but name, so if you’ve just finished MercurySteam’s Metroid Samus Returns on 3DS, Axiom Verge makes for a worthy follow-up.

And if you’re looking for a new co-op experience, we also recommend Asteroid Base’s Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

This week also sees another spate of releases for the Nintendo 3DS. Level 5’s Professor Layton series continues with Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy, and OmiyaSoft’s cult strategy franchise returns in Culdcept Revolt.

Our 3DS pick of the week, however, is the remake of the classic Game Boy Advance RPG, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. The jury’s out on the aesthetic changes, but the characters, jokes, and fun combat mechanics, should make it an essential purchase.

Here’s this week’s full eShop lineup.
