Dark Light

Octopath Traveler and Captain Toad lead this week’s lineup of Nintendo eShop releases for the Nintendo Switch, 3DS, and Wii U.

If you didn’t play Captain Toad:Treasure Tracker when it was first released for the Wii U in 2014, make sure you pick it up for the Nintendo Switch. It’s a sparkling little puzzle game that gives Toad a well-deserved moment in the spotlight. The new version also includes some brand new levels based on Super Mario Odyssey. A surprisingly polished port is also coming to the Nintendo 3DS.

This week’s other big game is Octopath Traveler, the new RPG from Square Enix and Acquire. The recent – and rather generous – free demo bodes well, and indicates that the game has plenty to offer in addition to its stunning visuals.

Other games dropping over the next seven days include 20XX, puzzle game Red Hot Ricochet, and a port of the classic ‘90s platformer, Another World. RPG fans might also be interested in Media Vision’s Shining Resonance Refrain.

As usual, this list is subject to change throughout the week. Here is the current lineup of Nintendo eShop releases.
