Nintendo eShop Releases

Wolfenstein II and new DLC for Mario + Rabbids head this week’s lineup of Nintendo eShop releases for the Nintendo Switch.

It’s hard to know where to start with this week’s avalanche of Nintendo Switch releases. The biggest – and most intriguing – game of the week the Bethesda published Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

Last year’s port of Doom proved that, with a few nips and tucks, the Switch can capably handle a AAA FPS, and we hope the further adventures of BJ Blazkowicz have received the same loving treatment. Early word is promising.

One of last year’s best Nintendo Switch games also gets a big new update. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure adds new characters, levels, and gameplay mechanics to Ubisoft’s effervescent tactical RPG.

It’s also a good week for indies, with Playdead’s Inside and Limbo making an appearance, and Lumines Remastered finding a natural home on Switch. Handheld mode and good headphones are recommended.

And finally, Crash Bandicoot makes his Switch debut, and there’s a new game in the Harvest Moon series to plough through.

As usual, this list is subject to change throughout the week. Here is the current lineup of Nintendo eShop releases.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
