Nintendo eShop Summer sale 2019

The big eShop summer sale brings savings to more than 180 games on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS.

The latest sale on the European Nintendo eShop features discounts on a huge array of games, including some excellent first-party titles.

Splatoon 2 – which hosts its final Splat Fest next weekend – is our top recommendation. Although live events are soon to be a thing of the past, the game has a smorgasbord of content and a strong community of players. The Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion is also discounted..

Other first-party highlights include the excellent Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and the enjoyable Super Mario Party. The expansion pass for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also one to check out. It’s a substantial and memorable addition to an excellent game.

Other highlights include Ubisoft’s strategy game, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Blizzard’s Diablo III: Eternal Collection. And some of the Switch’s best indie games are also on offer, such as Night in the Woods, Steamworld Dig 2, Baba is You, and Wandersong.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
