République: Anniversary Edition and Chocobo GP are among this week’s new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
Despite the ongoing success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, there’s always space for another mascot racer to attempt to take pole position. Chocobo GP seems unlikely to do that, but early reviews suggest it’s a top-notch karting game. Final Fantasy enthusiasts will enjoy the ride, of course, but even if your knowledge of the franchise is limited, Chocobo GP seems to be a full-featured game with more to offer than fan service.
République: Anniversary Edition sees Camoflaj’s ambitious stealth adventure return to celebrate its tenth birthday. The complete five-episode story is included, along with new commentary tracks detailing the game’s development and design. It’s a smart and stylish experience with a message that still resonates.
Other new Nintendo Switch releases include Splash Cars, Ashwalkers – A Survival Journey, and the promising snow sports game Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands.
