The Castlevania Anniversary Collection headlines this week’s roster of new eShop releases for the Nintendo Switch.
Despite the absence of a dedicated virtual console, and Nintendo’s reluctance to tap into its own post-NES game library, other companies are keeping the classics coming.
The Castlevania Anniversary Collection features eight games from Konami’s long-running action adventure series. Our picks from compilation are SNES classic, Super Castlevania Ⅳ, and Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, which was originally released for the NES and Famicom Disk System.
Speaking of which, three more NES games are released this week for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online. Take a trip down memory lane with Donkey Kong Jr., Clu Clu Land, and VS. Excitebike.
Another recommendation is 34BigThings’ futuristic racing game, Redout. We reviewed the PlayStation 4 version back in 2017, saying: “The core racing model is a fluid rush, and a thrill to control through an intriguing, if undercooked world.” It’s certainly worth checking out if you pine for a new F-Zero game.
Other new releases include Rebellion’s remaster of Sniper Elite V2, Guilty Gear XX Λcore Plus R, and Devious Dungeon 2.
Here’s the full lineup of new Nintendo eShop games. We’ll any additional titles as they are confirmed.
