Dark Light

Overwatch wins Game of the Year at the annual Game Developers Choice Awards.

The ceremony – held as part of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco – saw attendees celebrate the technological and artistic achievements of the year’s best video games.

Blizzard’s Overwatch won the coveted Game of the Year award, as well as picking up the award for Best Design. Other winners included Pokémon Go for Best Mobile/Handheld Game, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for Best Technology.

Playdead’s Inside also did well, receiving the awards for Best Visual Art and Best Audio. The inaugural award for Best VR/AR Game was presented to Owlchemy Labs for Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives.

Elsewhere, Campo Santo picked up two awards for the stunning Firewatch, winning Best Debut and Best Narrative. Hello Games’ divisive space adventure, No Man’s Sky, was also acknowledged, taking home the Innovation Award.
