This week’s Xbox Free Play Days games star giant mechs and monster trucks.
Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can play two more games for free this weekend. It’s not a vintage lineup of freebies, but both titles offer frenetic thrills that will happily pass some time.
First up is Override 2: Super Mech League from Modus Games. The vibrant mech arena-brawler features a wealth of match types, including 1v1, 2v2, free-for-all, and King of the Hill. Players can choose from an impressive lineup of 20 mechs, and the iconic Ultraman is also available as DLC.
More arena-based exploits are on offer in Monster Truck Championship. Teyon’s simulation also includes an exciting roster of vehicles to command, plus a generous lineup of freestyle contests and races. It’s a surprisingly precise and technical game, but players who master their monster can pull off some spectacular moves, including doughnuts, bicycles, and wheelies.
Both games are free to play until midnight on May 2, 2021. All save progress and achievements will transfer to purchased copies. As ever, some digital discounts are also available.
