Sony has revealed the free games coming to PlayStation Plus in May, 2017.

May’s PlayStation Plus lineup is the strongest in some time, with a number of highly rated games coming to all three PlayStation consoles.

Pick of the bunch is the fantastic underwater adventure, Abzû. It’s a game often compared to thatgamecompany’s Journey, but one which offers its own uniquely magical experience. That said, if you loved Journey, you’ll most likely enjoy Abzû, too.

Also coming to PlayStation 4 is Tales from the Borderlands from Telltale Games. And through the wonder of Cross Buy, PS4 owners also get hold of May’s PS Vita titles: Laser Disco Defenders and Type:Rider.

On PlayStation 3 you can look forward to playing hack and slash RPG Blood Knights, and pirate business sim, Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants.

Here’s the full rundown:

PlayStation Plus Games – May 2017

  • Abzu (North America)
  • Alienation (Europe)
  • Tales from the Borderlands

  • Blood Knights
  • Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants

PS Vita

  • Laser Disco Defenders (with PS4 Cross Buy)
  • Type:Rider (with PS4 Cross Buy)

The PlayStation Plus May 2017 games will be available to download from Tuesday May 2, 2017. Don’t forget to grab last month’s games while you still can.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
