Insomniac’s 2016 reboot of Ratchet & Clank is getting a frame-rate boost on PlayStation 5.
There’s still some time to go until Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is released for the PS5 in June, but Sony is doing a great job of keeping the series in the spotlight until the new game arrives.
The 2016 reimagining of Ratchet & Clank is currently free for any PS4 or PS5 owner to download as part of Sony’s Play at Home initiative. The game is also included in the PS5’s 20-game-strong PlayStation Plus Collection of freebies. It’s a delicious reworking of a classic action platformer, and there really is no excuse not to own it. And for PS5 owners that do, there’s another bonus on the way.
Developer Insomniac Games has announced that the game will be playable in 60 FPS on PS5 following a new update released in April.

Ratchet & Clank is available to download until Wednesday, March 31, so don’t delay if you haven’t picked up the game already.
The upcoming PS5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will also run at 60 FPS, albeit at an as-yet unconfirmed sub-4K resolution. It will also be playable in 4K at 30 FPS.
