Camoflaj’s classic stealth action-adventure game will be re-released as République: Anniversary Edition next week.
Blimey, time flies. It only feels like 3598 days since we spoke to Camoflaj founder Ryan Payton about his ambitious plans to bring a AAA experience to mobile devices with République.
To mark the game’s 10th anniversary, République is being re-released in remastered form with some cool extras. All five episodes of the game are included, along with new commentary tracks that give take an in-depth look at its development.
The new edition was developed for PlayStation 4 by Camoflaj in partnership with Darkwind Media and then ported to Switch and PS VR by Skymap Games. It’s priced at $14.99 on all platforms, with a special $19.99 bundle that includes both PS4 and PS VR versions. Nintendo eShop pre-orders are also available with a 30% pre-release discount.
Meanwhile, Camoflaj is expanding its operation with the formation of Camoflaj Holdings in Japan. The company’s new arm is led by Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker, who says:
“We’re thrilled to be starting a new chapter in Camouflaj’s history with the opening of Camouflaj Holdings here in Japan. Our second base here will strengthen our capability to build high quality, meaningful games on a global scale. République: Anniversary Edition arrival on Switch, PlayStation 4, and PS VR are a celebration of the studio’s first decade. I can’t wait for players to discover what we mean when we say we build ‘meaningful games’ by experiencing République’s story, which I believe are even more relevant today than they were when Episode 1 first released back in 2013.”
République: Anniversary Edition sneaks on to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation VR on March 10, 2022.
