Yoshio Sakamoto and Shigesato Itoi look back on Miitomo’s development and its future potential.
Nearly a year on from the untimely death of Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, Nintendo has started publishing a new interview strand that’s reminiscent of the much-loved, Iwata Asks.
The discussion between Nintendo producer Yoshio Sakamoto and father of the Mother series, Shigesato Itoi, begins by covering subjects including Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School and the process that led to the design of the Wii’s Mii avatars.
Like Iwata Asks – and in contrast to the recent Star Fox Zero developer interview – the discussion is really rather charming. If Itoi follows in Iwata’s footsteps and continues to pull back the curtain on Nintendo’s development processes with such humour and enthusiasm, we won’t complain at all.
And how cool is the replica Miitomo room they are sitting in?
The conversation is broken into six parts and is available now on the Miitomo website at https://miitomo.com/en/talk.
