Shenmue III is out now and no, you aren’t allowed to know if it’s any good.

We’ve been waiting 18 years for more Shenmue. And after having been left dangling since the Dreamcast days, fans can finally play the next chapter in Ryo Hazuki’s story.

“Thank you so much for your enduring support these 18 years since Shenmue II,” said series creator Yu Suzuki in a press release from Ys Net and Deep Silver.

“I hope from the bottom of my heart that Shenmue III becomes special for you, truly I thank you!”

Early reviews and impressions suggest that new Shenmue is very similar to old Shenmue. So, fans will likely find plenty to enjoy in the open-world adventure game.

That said, there was some weirdness with the review embargo. Reviews are set to hit on launch day, so there aren’t very many takes out in the wild yet. That should change later today.

Until then, just bask in the weirdness that Shenmue III is out and a new Half-Life game is coming soon.
