Skatebird flaps onto Nintendo Switch in late 2020

In Skatebird, you play as a bird who skates.

Skatebird is a spiritual successor to the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games of yesteryear. Except, this time around, you’re a bird. And you grind on bendy straws and ollie off magazines.

Nintendo announced yesterday that Glass Bottom Games’ indie is headed for Switch in late 2020.

It looks great, especially if you’ve been itching for this kind of game. Between this, the upcoming Session and Apple Arcade’s Skate City, the eXtremely arcadey skater is making a comeback. Coo.

This one has been in development for a while, and will also come to PC via Steam sometime in 2020.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
