During Sony’s showcase at Paris Games Week, Spider-Man, the upcoming PS4 exclusive, was given a new trailer revealing lots of small details about its world.
Check out the trailer below:
There’s more Miles Morales; there’s a glimpse of a woman looking a lot like Mary Jane Watson; there’s plenty more of Mr Negative, the game’s villain; and there’s actually a few looks at gameplay as well.
First revealed at E3 this year, the new Spider-Man game is being developed by Insomniac Games, the developer behind Sunset Overdrive and the Ratchet & Clank series, and features a beautiful sandbox New York to play in.
That first trailer let us see how the game looks to play, and it was clear that a number of cues had been taken from the Batman Arkham games developed by Rocksteady Studios – including its web-swinging stretches, its combat, and its cinematic presentation.
This one includes a look at some indoor combat as Spider-Man takes on a group of goons by sling- shotting himself toward them. Also, intriguingly, it looks as if at one point you actually play as Mary Jane – if indeed it is Mary Jane – in what looks like a stealth section, as she crouches behind crates out of sight.
Spider-Man will be released exclusively for the PS4 in 2018.
