Classic Star Wars games to get physical release on Switch and PS4

Dark Light

Aspyr Media is releasing four classic Star Wars games across two physical bundles on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

The first collection, titled Star Wars Jedi Knight Collection, includes Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. The second pack, Star Wars Racer and Commando Combo, features Star Wars Republic Commando and Star Wars Episode I: Racer.

Aspyr’s work on these fan-favourite games is generally impressive. The updates give each title just enough polish to shine on modern devices while retaining their vintage charm.

In our review of Episode I: Racer, we said, “The game shows its age, but it now plays like a dream.” And of this year’s Republic Commando port, we said that it’s still “one of the best action games based on the long-running sci-fi saga.”

Both collections are set for release in North America and Europe on October 26, 2021. They will be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and priced at a reasonable $29.99 / €29.99 / £25.99.

Aspyr Media is also porting Bioware’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to Nintendo Switch next month and has a full remake in development for PlayStation 5 and PC.
