Big changes are coming to the Street Fighter V Capcom Fighters Network.
Capcom have announced a host of improvements coming to Street Fighter V’s Capcom Fighters Network online service. From March 28 to April 3, new and existing Street Fighter V players will be able test out the CFN changes and Season 2 balance adjustments, for free.
Unfortunately, the beta will only be available to Steam users, and will only apply to the game’s online mode. All existing Street Fighter V characters – up to and including the Kolin – will be unlocked for the period of the test. And pending the results of the beta, Capcom will officially release the update to PlayStation 4 and PC soon after.
It’s a significant update, too. Many tweaks, such as matchmaking improvements and reduced loading times, will enhance the overall play experience. One useful addition is an interactive timeline of friends’ activities, with which players can quickly add a recent match to their Replay List.
Special ‘rage quit’ icons will now appear on profiles with frequent disconnection rates. Capcom say that matchmaking logic will then take this into account and will match quiters with quiters.
Other updates include new leaderboard filters, more detailed fighter profile stats, and the ability to save your Training Mode settings.
The CFN test will run from 1PM PST on March 28 and conclude at 12PM on April 3, 2017.
