Tekken’s Kazuya joins the Nintendo Switch fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate today, leaving just one more DLC character to come.

In a video released yesterday, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that DLC fighter Kazuya will join the hit Nintendo Switch game today. The 43-minute long presentation detailed Kazuya’s move set and demoed the included Mishima Dojo stage. The pack also features 39 music tracks taken from the Tekken series.

Kazuya’s arrival leaves one more slot to complete the game’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2 DLC lineup. Sakurai confirmed that the next character – due later this year – will be the last added to the game, However, Sakurai urges fans to be patient as it will be some time before there’s an official reveal of the fighter’s identity.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released in 2018 with an impressive roster of 76 characters, plus Pihrana Plant as free DLC for early adopters. Following release, the game has received two paid Fighters Pass DLC packs.

Fighters Pass Vol. 1 introduced Persona 5‘s Joker, Dragon Quest XI‘s Hero, Banjo & Kazooie, Terry Bogard from King of Fighters, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses‘ Byleth.

Fighters Pass Vol. 2 has so far added Min Min from Arms, Minecraft‘s Steve, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2‘s Pyra and Mythra.

Also launching today is a new set of Mii Fighter costumes, including Skyrim‘s Dragonborn, Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia, Shantae, and Dante from Devil May Cry.

As for the future, Sakurai is tight-lipped, saying:

“Now that I think about it, it’s been close to 10 years since Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS was in development. I’ve been working on this for a long time. You could call it my life’s work.”

The man deserves a well-earned rest.
