Team 17, the studio that created Worms, Alien Breed, and Overcooked, is reportedly planning a stock market listing of £200 million dollars.
The Times has reported that the studio and publisher will be making an announcement shortly, and that it has stockbrokers working on the float at the moment.
If the listing goes through at that figure, then it would make Team 17 the largest publisher in the UK.
Lloyds Development Capital – which is a part of the Lloyds Banking Group – bought a stake in the company, paying £16.5 million, in 2016.
In the same year, Team 17 reported a loss of £37,686 after tax, after it generated £6.5 million in revenue.
Its efforts as a developer include hits like Lemmings, Worms W.M.D, and Superfrog. As a publisher, the studio has, especially recently, been prolific, with The Escapists in 2014 Yooka-Laylee last year, and Overcooked the year before.
In 2018, the studio has Planet Alpha, a platforming game scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox, PC, and Switch; and Raging Justice, a side-scrolling beat ‘em up, for the PS4.
